Where can I buy cabinets in Chanute, Kansas?

When I first started in the residential construction business, this was a genuine question I would ask myself. Since I was working for a customer that wanted a kitchen remodel, it was my job to answer it. So, I figured I would share my answer with you. Each of these places offer kitchen, vanity, laundry, and mudroom cabinetry options.

Before we get started, I have a question for you to answer. What kind of cabinets are you looking for? Specifically, are you wanting custom cabinetry with all the storage options and to fit your area exactly? Or are you looking for a standard to semi-custom option where you can get some of the organizational things you're looking for and can deal with a few filler pieces? I ask this because each place offers something specific.

Here are the 3 places I know you can order cabinets for your project and the experience they offer:

Bridgewood Cabinetry: Custom Cabinetry

There are 2 dealers that I know of in Chanute that you can order custom Bridgewood cabinets through. They are Hal Jones (620-431-8084) and Bill and Mary Winders (620-433-1444). I worked with Hal once and he was able to provide limited visual renderings of what the kitchen would look like. It has been a few years since I worked with him, so that may be more robust now. Because he is a carpenter, he also offers installation of the cabinets. I have also worked with Bill and Mary. You can go into Cathers Hearing downtown and look at samples and see your visuals on their TV. I believe both Hal and Bill and Mary are able to take you to the new Bridgewood show room on 35th Parkway. However, you do have to find an installer if working with them. The one comment I've heard time and time again is the cost is steep, but custom cabinetry has always been an investment. I personally own Bridgewood cabinets in my office and I have been happy with both the looks and quality of the cabinets. They are painted bookshelves and I've had them for a few years and they still look incredible. Check out some Bridgewood Cabinetry examples here.

Cleaver Farm and Home: Semi-Custom Cabinetry & Custom

Cleavers carries 2 brands of cabinets: Wolf and Homecrest. Wolf has a few different lines that range from standard to custom while Home Crest is more of a semi-custom brand. Standard means they have certain sizes ready to go and can be shipped out in a few weeks, but you'll have filler pieces between some cabinets in order to fit your kitchen. I would say this is the most affordable option in our area. Semi-custom means you have more organizational options and have limited ability for size adjustments and extended stiles vs. filler pieces. Jill and Angie work in the design center and are great at talking you through the different options, pricing, and providing visual renderings of what the project will look like. Again, you do have to find your own installer for the cabinets but Cleavers also has a list of contractors in the area that you can reach out to for that.

R.C.C.S.: Custom Cabinetry

This is where I work, and we offer custom cabinetry and install. You and I would get together to go over what type of cabinetry you're looking for and I draw it on the computer to give you a 3D rendering of what it will look like. Then our cabinet guy, Noah, builds them and installs when they are ready. Because we are a construction company, we can do other parts of the project as well or just the installation of the cabinets. We do not have a showroom with stock stain colors/paint colors so we work with you to find the right color and provide a sample before getting started.
