Cute, but subtle, Halloween Decor

I'm not one that usually buys new stuff for every season. First of all, it's expensive, and second I hate buying things to use for 1 year then I'm tired of it. I know with how often we get "New Arrivals" it's hard to do that last part. But, I try my hardest to buy pieces I truly love so I am not constantly adding things to the cart every time the weather changes.

Seasonal decor can bring whimsy into your home, but it's very easy to buy things you won't like for longer than just that one season. Today I want to share some Halloween decor that I've seen that I think is simple enough that they won't go "out of style" while still providing that season whimsy we like.

A good rule of thumb for me is if I see something and I don't buy it right away, but I still think about later, then I'll buy it later if it's still around. Each of these items have had that hold on me.

Nicole Cicak x West Elm

Every fall, West Elm debuts these unique themed Fall Holiday pillows that I think are worth the investment. They are cute, whimsical, and tell a cute, little seasonal story. I look every year to see which ones they've put out and what the scene is. One of these, or one of any Halloween themed throw pillows, would be a perfect addition to your seasonal decor to add a bit of fun character. The key here is to not go overboard on the season. Just enough to evoke the feeling.

  • Macy's Day Parade Pillow
  • Halloween Harvest pillow
  • Spooky Street Pillow
  • Halloween Dog Park Pillow

Witch Ghost

Lit Ghost Collection

I reaaalllyyy wanted Ghost a couple of years ago, but didn't want to spend the money. Then when I finally decided, eff it, I wanted it, it was sold out. So when they came out last year I bought one. It is the most fun thing I have ever purchased. Josh and I move it around the house, but it would also make for the perfect, yet simple, porch companion paired with a fall wreath and a couple pumpkins.

Themed Candle Sticks

Another inexpensive way to add simple Halloween Decor is to do themed candle sticks. You can pick up a couple of candle stick holders from a thrift store, or buy new ones and change out the candlesticks seasonally. A good place for this would be on your entry table, dining room table, or your fireplace mantel.

  • Ghost tapered candle sticks
  • squiggly ghost candle sticks
  • handmade ghost candle sticks

Candy Bowl

A timeless Halloween Decor piece is a good candy bowl. Now they have so many different ones to choose from, but here are a few of my favorite ones that I think will be chic this year and every year after.

  • jock o later wicker candy bowl
  • creepy ceramic candy bowl
  • hand made ghost candy bowl

Places I Like to Shop

These are the online places I frequent when it's time for Halloween decor to see if I need to add a piece to my slow growing collection:
